Blockchain Developer

We are looking for a blockchain developer to use their extensive knowledge of the blockchain and relevant programming languages to maintain and improve Bela's blockchain. You will consistently seek methods to make Bela's blockchain more lightweight and user-friendly, all while propelling it to compete with the other top blockchains in terms of adoption and utility. Specifically, you will play a strong role in implementing Segwit, the Lightning Network, and other blockchain add-ons while additionally devising your own unique improvements to integrate into Bela. This position reports directly to the CTO.

A Typical Week

• You will research thoroughly and brainstorm with team members to conceptualize new features for the Bela blockchain
• You will collaborate with Application Engineering developers to assure that the blockchain efficiently empowers Live Bela apps, plugins and other software
• You'll learn about new web technologies and discuss potential solutions to problems
• You will make the Bela blockchain easier for everyone to use
• You will assist with non-blockchain development from time to time
• You'll mentor other engineers and deeply review code before public release

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
• 3+ years experience in building and debugging systems in C++, Python, and other relevant coding languages
• Experience writing, reviewing, or revising blockchain related systems
• Ability to adapt to changes in trends in technology and task
• Experience with modern browser technologies
• A meticulous attention to detail and desire to “sweat the small stuff”
• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and empathy
• Self-­awareness and a desire to continually improve
